. johnson & johnson, their full-year numbers are not too hot. a couple of things to know is, in the latest quarter they did do well with therapy for hepatitis b, as well as, psoriasis. that is something you will have to watch. lori: thank you. melissa: big tech giants will report today after the bell. sandra smith is here with what we can expect from ibm and google. sandra: let's take a look at the dow right now. ibm will be the one to watch. ibm has a big impact. there is about a 11% weighting. we will be looking for ipo earnings. you are probably not too pleased with this selloff. a lot of people looking for a turnaround plan for ibm. ibm could really set the bar for what we expect right now. expecting $5.25 a share. 10% off of its earlier highs. this will be a stop to watch after the bell tonight. also, google. all eyes will be watching google. look at where it is sitting. look at this selloff. it is a year-to-date chart for 2013. this stock has seen a 10% selloff. right now analysts expect $10.52 a share from google. there is confusion expected tonight. the profits from that will not b

higher from the get go and stays higher. it was a huge one day move for the stock. how about johnson and johnson? here is one where the earnings are better than expected. wait a second. the guide streams over but the street is at $5.49. it starts to sink like a stone. it is just incredible. down 80 cents from the close. for me, the j and j is the breakup story. the stock flashed right back up for where it was on friday. we bought the stock and flipped it. finally, best and wildest for last. dupont, which it disappointed last quarter. it came out with a st txstellar number which looked like a major come back. ♪ hallelujah >> it came out by the commodity of whitener. the pricing had collapsed when chinese demand diminished. dupont means something. she told me stop it. stop worrying. because we don't know what the forecast is going to be and we won't know until the conference call. we can't know. meanwhile, ellen coleman appears on our own show and says i think 2013 is setting up to be a cautious year. how will the us economy respond? she goes onto say the definite needs to be dealt w

's a new high. johnson controls and guidance for the current quarter is down 3%, but can you see the other technology stocks really didn't lose that much. the industrials didn't lose that much. in other words, very specific movements on the company's own reports or guidance. how about rotating? lots of talk about rotating into industrials and out of banks. it's true the banks are looking a little tired. a lot of disappointed on capital one's earnings today, but you can see most of the banks didn't do much on either side, a positive or negative, but they have been looking signs of topping recently. how about semiconductors? if intel issued disappointing guidance a while ago, a couple quarters back, a lot of other big names would have been down today but it didn't happen. taiwan semi, texas instruments, micron didn't do well. talking about raising the debt ceiling. look what it did to the vix, to the downside and for the week, maria, the important things is all the moves into cyclical names. energy and industrial stocks all moving. back to you. >> thanks, bob. a lot more coming up on this ja

. the shooter, identified as 34-year-old sean johnson, reportedly has a history of mental illness. the victim, identified as greg elsenrath, is expected to recover. american airlines is upward- bound, according to the ceo. the airline just reported turning a profit in the 4th quarter, which was due in part to cost cutting. amr is said to be closer to wrapping up its bankrutpcy restructing. and, the airline plans to unveil a new look at its fleet this month. the ceo declined comment on a potential merger with u.s. airways. u.s. airways stock continues to gain ground. it was up 2% yesterday. problems are accelerating at toyota. the company will pay an undisclosed amount to settle two class-action lawsuits that stem from allegations of sudden acceleration problems. it follows two high-profile settlements that the automaker agreed to pay. in december, toyota paid a billion dollars in a related case, while in november the company paid millions to shareholders after failing to disclose vehicle problems. jpm morgan ceo jamie dimon is taking a financial hit. jp morgan's board is slicing dimon's pay

overlooked is large cap pharma. and we like names like johnson & johnson, merck and in particular pfizer. cheryl: those are the three names. you also like some drug distribution companies. one name? >> yeah, cardinal health. if you look at what happened over the last several years, we had a big pick-up in the generic pipeline, 2013, there's a big drop-off, but coming in 2014, 2015, is another big generic wave, particularly for the so-called limited source drugs, which are limited to a couple distributors, and that should be good for companies like cardinal health. cheryl: all right. well certainly again earnings season is picking up. i'm curious in this healthcare space particularly if we're going to get upside surprises when it comes to earnings and dividends. >> we think you will see upside surprises particularly in healthcare after the recent jpmorgan healthcare conference, we saw a lot of strength in healthcare names. we think that's going to continue throughout earnings season. we think there are companies across the equity space that will outperform, but in general, we really like

reported. johnson & johnson was one of the misses today, down nearly a full percent. stock's seen a lot of volatility in today's session, but this is the stock, by the way, that's up about 11% over the past year, so some biggies appointment on their 2013 -- biggies appointment on their 2013 forecast. another dow stock to watch here, it's up about 1.5% right near its highs of the session, dupont. reported a sharp drop in profits, but it did beat forecasts. you know what happens then, the stock gets a nice boost, so that's got dupont up right now. travelers, their profits were down 51% because of all the lames due to hurricane sandy -- delays due to hurricane sandy. up 2%, and it has been that way really throughout the session. and lastly, we also had verizon. it missed after a record amount of people signed up and bought new phones, but it was on a lot of the subsidies that they were offering, so it cut into profits. the stocks in the final minutes of trading up about 1%. and lastly, cheryl, we've got google after the bell tonight, all eyes on google. of course, the big thing there, the

not seeing it. generally johnson controls came out and said we continue to have confidence in our full year guidance, even though they said at the first half of the year they won't make as much as last year. there's back end assumptions in some of these companies. but the main earnings themes from these four companies, still on cost reduction. that's what they'll be able to control. the ceo said he's increasingly confident he can meet or exceed financial expectations. i'm still looking for top line growth in these companies. big moves in the asian companies overnight. did you see japan's up there. japan, best day in 22 months, folks. china gdp, better. suncoke open for trading. i mentioned that. down 2% right here at $18.57. japan, again, biggest gains in 22 months. investments there on fire. all the etfs there are getting very large inflows in the last couple of weeks. speaking of inflows, did you see stock mutual funds? inflows for a second week in a row. this is according to lippert here. stock, mutual funds, most since april of 2000. i got excited last week, i'm really interested now, b

started picking stocks on this show on december 14th. johnson controls up 9% since then. january 4th goldman up 8%. jp morgan up 4%. kkr up 9%. blackstone up 7%. ebay. you picked it last week. up 2%. nice record. pressure is on now. >> well it's been an up market. obviously kind of going with the flow a little bit. i feel like if you wanted to capture any potential sudden pull back because of the over optimism or anything like that there is an etf, the s&p, high beta stocks. sphb. which essentially is the 100 stocks that give you the most exaggerated move in whatever the market direction is. i don't think this is a long-term play but strictly a scalping operation or a hedge if you are already pretty long here that would essentially be giving back some of the out performance. sbhb is up 8 plus percent in three weeks versus 5 1/2 on the market. a lot of out performance in a relatively short period of time after options expiration. i don't know what the implications are. seems if you had any give back that is where the juice is. >> we shall see. fast and slow money watching as we know.

-industry stocks. ge, good numbers today. parker hannifin numbers, new high. johnson controls disappointed because they guided lower on their current quarter. all the stocks are moving in line with their commentary and that's something we haven't seen in a while. now, there's a lot of talk. the industrials have been very strong this month. talk about moving into industrials and maybe out of bank stocks which were strong last year. the banks are looking a little tired right now, a little bit toppy. capital one had a very disappointing earnings report. you can see the rest of the stocks aren't going anywhere as well. semiconductors. normally, if you had intel had disappointing guidance. you would see a lot of effect in the overall group the following day. intel is down 7%. taiwan semi, micron, texas instruments, not doing much. that's what i mean. individual stocks doing well but not whole sectors. good day for ipos, norwegian cruise lines, priced at $19 and 23 million shares. opens at 25. there it is, holding up, straight line all throughout the day. finally, the third of three master limited partn

earnings report. it is on the up side, parker hanifan on the up side. johnson controls with a bad outlook on the company. everything is moving individually and not afeking the overall stock market. people have been asking whether you should be moving into the industrial names and out of the bank names p and certainly happening in the last two weeks. so we've seen big banks looking tired these days. that's not an accurate number here. j.p. morgan with the down side as can you see. a lot of those have been topping out so there is interest of row out of the banks and into the industrials. finally, i want it to point out. look at the affect it has on other semi conductors over all. intel is down big. look at texas instrument, all those are flat to slightly to the upside. bottom line here is if you look at some of the names, they are moving individually and not affecting the markets. back to you. >> really is a company by company situation this earning season. bob, thank you very much. rick, what are you watching in the bond pits? >> we are watching equities closely because of issue with the t
